light up

We usually have Christmas decorations up right after Thanksgiving day every year.
But this year...
I had a long list of things to do, like, paintings I needed to finish, sewings I needed to start, things I needed to organize . . . so I had made up my mind to procrastinate putting up the decorations.  But I always feel like I have a [never ending story] until the items on the to-do-list are checked off, and the kids were wanting me to bring down the boxes of Christmas decorations on Thanksgiving evening.  Well . . . Admit of no excuse.
On Friday after Thanksgiving, we started setting up the Christmas tree and I called over the kids for a fun craft time as soon as I found this tutorial for paper stars.

You've got drawings?

Hello, Moms & Dads,,, or who heart kids : )

Do you have your kids’ drawings?
It does not matter how old your kids are or how good their drawing skills may be. From the little lines of scribbles to cute, fancy, and unique images like dollies, soldiers, or their own characters, {studio S} can reproduce an artistic piece of embroidered design* from your kids’ special drawing.
*possible embroidered design: fabric name tag, key chain

Here is the process of the customer order;
1.     Take a picture of your kid’s drawing you want to use for the embroidered design.
2.     Decide the design from *possible embroidered design.
3.     Email the image with the detail information (#2 ) to me.
4.     I draw the image on a fabric and start to embroider with color threads.
5.     After I finish the embroidery, it would be packed in gift box and sent to you.

This whole process would take about five or six business days except the mailing process.

+ I have added this custom order at my etsy shop.

still in November

It's been snowing since yesterday and yes ...  we are in still November!

Thanksgiving day has not even come yet but I feel Christmas is already coming next week.  The display stack in stores are all about Christmas + New Year and the weather indicates definitely a freezing tempurature.  Where has Fall gone this year?  All the thankfulness, the joy of harvest and warm cozy Autumn colors in this year seem to vanish into the busy and crowded winter.

silent

The house is silent.

It is quiet, silent, subded, undisturbed, and motionless in the middle of night and nothing moves and sounds, where only a fine leaf on the branch of a tree sways in the wind, where only a candle flickers in the breeze, where only the curtain flutters in the breeze, or where only the sound of raining is heard from ourside.

Emma

There are several movie versions of Jane Austen's master piece 'Emma,' and my heart goes to this one, adapted for British television in 1996, directed by Diarmuid Lawrence.

Emma Woodhouse, the protagonist of the story, is a beautiful, high-spirited, intelligent, and 'slightly' spoiled young woman of 21. Her mother died when she was very young, and she has been mistress of the house ever since, certainly since her older sister got married. While she is in many ways mature for her age, Emma makes some serious mistakes, mainly due to her conviction that she is always right and her lack of real world experience. Although she has vowed she will never ever marry, she delights in making matches for others. She seems unable to fall in love, until jealousy makes her realize that she has loved Mr Knightley all along. - Wikipedia.org
