the memory

About sixteen years ago, I had a chance to be in residence at Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris which has provided general and public services, including the maintenance of several dozen residences for students and visiting academics. The interesting of the residences is that they were given names by countries like 'House of Amenian students,' 'Canada house,' 'Mexico house,' 'The USA foundation,' 'Sweden house',,,  The architectural style of each building of the residences differs and shows distinguishing character by each different design. Specially, Pavillon Suisse is designed by the famous architect & designer, Le Corbusier
I had stayed at 'College Dutch' and enjoyed myself staying at the residence.

I could usually find myself drawing the view from my room... and liked using pencils or color pencils for the drawings.

the symphony of feeling

Miss Clara, This video shows her magnificent workmanship and beautiful studio. Her work style faintly reminds me of the puppeteer and maker of marionettes in the movie, 'The Double Life of Véronique.' The atmosphere of tranquillity and reflection in the movie shows the director's incredible work of detail.

layer,layer,,, the layer of images

I was amazed at what I saw every morning this week.

The impacted shadows,
the mass of foliages,
the images of the layer of trees,
and the particular quality of light in the view
was producing a harmony of shape and texture.

simple joy

 before

after

 the name tag

C got a shoulder bag from her school as the award for being the student of the week.
Of course,
she wanted to switch the old back pack with this new bag for her daily school life.
(She believes that she would be a big girl with a SHOULDER bag.)
I thought it would be special with a little personal touch
like the embroidered fabric name tag.

i heart fabric bags

the starting point...

gotta love the cotton lace

I'm in favor of the pattern of lines and colors in this bag.

I finally finished making a bag with the fabric that I purchased several years ago.

I'm getting tempted to fill the bag with a large sketch book and travel.
