together ~~ we made it

We made a new dress for C's pink teddy bear.

C got Fashion Design Studio as a birthday present and C was excited for her own dressmaking. Hummmm.... however it is marked '10 and up' and she is only 7 year old. I knew she would need a significant amount of help to enjoy it.

start pinning...

I was not suprised that a seven year old struggled with it. But she didn't give up her project and she was willing to try doing it by herself, like, picking up fabrics and accessories for the dress, threading a needle, pinning fabrics on the cute dress form from the kit.  I think the best thing is that the dress form can be used for draping fabrics which is an essential skill for young designers. C has pinned two layers of fabric together on a basic white dress which was a ready-made in the craft kit and they looked amazing! Even though I did most of hand sewing for the dress, C and I had a great time together sharing idea, learning skill, and checking <3 for each other... : )

a true heart comes from all nature

J picked up these beautiful rocks for his mom from his school field.
Each of rocks has a different character:
tiny, smooth, pointy, round, patterned, shiny, and colored.

and

we gathered the different shapes, colors, and textures together

to create a shape of

transforming

Any small piece of fabric can be part of special stuff.
Cutting, gathering, adding, and decorating are the main steps for me in creating
a luxurious and romantic
hair ties.

My heart for the surface of the circle, the size of 1 1/2 inches in diameter, has gone deeper since I had enjoyed the way of composition with fabrics and embellishments and layered the different materials to create unexpected texture.

affection II

"I love you~~!"

I never get tired of their passionate confessions of love.

It is one of the costless gifts
but
it is PRICELESS.

On special days like Valentine’s Day,
the cost of this confession rises twofold or more as a result of high demand.

affection I

My beloved husband was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia on January 15th, 2008.  He received a stem cell transplant on June 12th, 2008. Since then, with the grace of God, he has been recovering.

He is still fighting against the symptoms of side-effects and GVHD but he carries strong Faith with him wherever he goes...and I am inspired by it, and learns from it every single day. My words always, always, fails me in expressing all of this. But I always know that I am so very thankful and glad to be with him in my life.

I think this photo I took on the day he started getting chemotherapy to prepare for the transplant describes very well about the situation that he was going through...
He told me that no one should ever have to undergo a chemotherapy... Before he received stem cell transplant he needed to get chemotherapy, very strong doses of chemo,...
to kill all his cancerous cells for the transplant. He also needed to take drugs to prevent the possible side-effects of the chemotherapy, and one of the drugs was designed to slow down his brain.
He was suffering more from the drug that was given to prevent one of the side-effects (seizure) of chemotherapy. He could not walk straight (people must have thought he was drunk), he could not think clearly, he could not come up with the words he wanted to say, he kept spilling things, and his legs were wobbling. Even to him, he looked funny, and I was laughing behind him. His brain was definitely slow, but it was a good day.

I love him even more today!
