Emma

There are several movie versions of Jane Austen's master piece 'Emma,' and my heart goes to this one, adapted for British television in 1996, directed by Diarmuid Lawrence.

Emma Woodhouse, the protagonist of the story, is a beautiful, high-spirited, intelligent, and 'slightly' spoiled young woman of 21. Her mother died when she was very young, and she has been mistress of the house ever since, certainly since her older sister got married. While she is in many ways mature for her age, Emma makes some serious mistakes, mainly due to her conviction that she is always right and her lack of real world experience. Although she has vowed she will never ever marry, she delights in making matches for others. She seems unable to fall in love, until jealousy makes her realize that she has loved Mr Knightley all along. - Wikipedia.org

the memory

About sixteen years ago, I had a chance to be in residence at Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris which has provided general and public services, including the maintenance of several dozen residences for students and visiting academics. The interesting of the residences is that they were given names by countries like 'House of Amenian students,' 'Canada house,' 'Mexico house,' 'The USA foundation,' 'Sweden house',,,  The architectural style of each building of the residences differs and shows distinguishing character by each different design. Specially, Pavillon Suisse is designed by the famous architect & designer, Le Corbusier
I had stayed at 'College Dutch' and enjoyed myself staying at the residence.

I could usually find myself drawing the view from my room... and liked using pencils or color pencils for the drawings.

the symphony of feeling

Miss Clara, This video shows her magnificent workmanship and beautiful studio. Her work style faintly reminds me of the puppeteer and maker of marionettes in the movie, 'The Double Life of Véronique.' The atmosphere of tranquillity and reflection in the movie shows the director's incredible work of detail.
